About

It took one singular TikTok video of a girl showcasing her crochet pieces for me to turn to my mom and ask her to teach me how to crochet. We spent the next consecutive nine hours on the sofa together, desperately trying to follow YouTube tutorials. After a full day spent hunched over my little project, I was left with a very wonky looking bralette and was immediately hooked. Pun intended.
I began crocheting nonstop. My pieces didn’t always turn out perfectly, but that didn’t deter me. Once I had created quite the colorful collection of bralettes, I decided to make an Instagram page to showcase my work. I didn’t expect anything to come of it, but ended up getting the same question: “Can you make me one?” And thus, a business was born.
At the time, my business was my name— T. Rec Crochet. It wasn’t until recently that I did a bit of rebranding and changed it to Raisin and Fig, named after my cats. Since the rebrand, I’ve come more into my own as a crochet artist. I’ve found my niche in bell sleeves and 70s inspired looks, rather than the little cropped bralettes that didn’t truly reflect who I am or what I wear.
This website launch is another important step in my crochet career, and I’m grateful for all of the support I’ve had since the T.Rec days that has allowed me to get to where I am today. I hope you enjoy the pieces I share as much as I do.
Thank you for all of the love.
xoxo,
Tor
